Behind the complex name POD-S3.1 is one of Adidas’ freshest innovations. The shoe combines three of the brand’s most groundbreaking technologies in one silhouette - hence 3.1.

With the POD-S3.1, Adidas has created a futuristic silhouette with the coveted runner-shape. And with a lightweight and flexible sock-upper, the shoe is the perfect trinity that works with both shorts, jeans, and joggers.

POD stands for Point of Deflection, referring to the plastic cap under the ankle, which was initially developed for the classic ZX 8000 in 1989.

The front part of the sole consists of Adidas’ robust EVA technology. This results in a streamlined front with shock absorbing cavities, resulting in perfect cushioning when your foot meets asphalt.

For the heel, Adidas has used a rich amount of Boost. The heel-unit returns energy from the impact and creates momentum during the most important part of the foot’s movement.
